A Child's Love of a Bugs Bunny Plush Toy Doll

Would you like to read this and enjoy a heart warming story of a child's love of her plush Bugs Bunny toy doll? It will probably come as no surprise to learn that kids really do love to play with this kind of toy, so strap yourself in for a nice read.

Naturally, to protect the real child's identity, I'll call her simply Annie.

The Saddest Story

Annie is six years old and lives with her single mom in a small apartment in a large block on the east side of town. This was the rougher side of town, if the truth be known. Her father went away a year ago, has never been in contact with Annie since and she misses him dearly.

The last gift he gave her before he deserted her life was a soft, cuddly Bugs Bunny plush doll that he promised would be the first of a collection of toys from the Looney Tunes character collection. Unfortunately, he did not keep that promise, so it turned out to be the first and last she would ever receive from him.

Every night after he left, Annie cuddled up to her favorite toy in bed and dreamed that tomorrow her father would return and everything would be all right again. But that dream never came true for Annie.

Where Did Daddy Go, Mommy?

When she asked her mom where daddy had gone, the reply was always vague and along the lines of he went to a better place. The truth of course is that her poor mom simply could not face telling Annie that her father hadn't really moved out of their home and their lives, but had been killed in a really bad traffic accident.

One day when she felt strong enough, her mom promised herself, she would tell Annie the truth about her wonderful daddy and how he always loved her and how she wished things had been different. But for now all she could do was to hope that her daughter would accept that daddy was not coming back and grow up to become the person that would have made him proud.

Comfort and Joy

Until that day arrives, Annie has her beloved Bugs Bunny toy to cuddle up to in bed at night and to talk to during the day when she is home from school. She has her memories of the father that used to cuddle her into bed at night and read her stories that sent her to sleep.

She still has her mommy to read those stories and to kiss her goodnight before she goes to sleep to dream of her daddy and how one day she will see him again. And toy Bugs will always be there to remind her of the father that will never again read her those stories or give her another gift like that one.

Looney Tunes Still Popular as Ever

The ever popular Looney Tunes cartoons have been a firm favorite with kids of all ages from 6 to 60 and beyond for decades now. It seems their timeless appeal never seems to fade as newer generations of kids watch them and just adore them.

That means gold for the makers and you probably will not be too surprised to hear that there is a huge marketing industry backing up the popular TV shows for kids. A new generation of Looney Tunes cartoon characters has taken the place of the older favorites characterized by Mel Blanc back in the 1940s, but all the new characters are children versions or their older counterparts.

The same crazy interactions happen between characters, keeping the shows fresh and ever popular.

Merchandise

That marketing industry is also huge and popular with all manner of Looney Tunes toys, games, clothing and other merchandise stocked in stores everywhere, both in the malls and high streets as well as online. If you were to look around just online and see what is available, you would be quite taken aback at the sheer variety and scope of all the different merchandise that is available for anyone who has their credit card at the ready.

If you like plush toys for kids, collector's sets for adults, illustrated tee shirts, decorated lampshades, bed spreads, pillow covers, wallpaper, wall posters, action figures, character figure play sets and just about anything else you can image, you will find merchandise carrying the images and likenesses of all your favorite Looney Tunes characters. It is not as if there is any shortage of things that these images can be associated with either.

Much Loved Characters

If it can have an image printed on it, then there will be Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck or any of the other well known and much loved characters grinning at you from wherever.

If you like to watch the cartoons themselves, be they the modern TV shows or the classic cartoons from the early era of the 20th century, you can get them on DVD as well as watch some selected episodes that have been downloaded onto Youtube or other online video repository. For me, the sight of Yosemite Sam yelling "Whoa mule, whoa" and then bashing the mule over the head with a lump of wood when it wouldn't stop is still a classic... "when Ah says whoa, Ah means WHOA!"

Yep, there are classic lines, situations and snippets that are still as ridiculously funny now as they were back then!

The Magic of Looney Tunes Toys

What do kids love about those crazy cartoon characters known as the Looney Tunes that have been entertaining kids and adults in their various guises for many decades on TV? Well, I suppose it's their endearing nature, their lovable, cute faces and their adorable ability to bring a smile to any face!

New Generation of Characters

Just to show how popular these great cartoon characters are, the older generation well known and much loved characters have been reborn in their new, baby versions for latter generation kids to watch and enjoy. The best part about this is that all the original names have been kept and they are just portrayed in baby format, so while the older, adult versions are still as popular as ever, their younger namesakes are taking over.

You can also get all the characters in toy format at the stores which is great for kids of all ages. There are so many great Baby Looney Tunes toys that you can find in the stores these days that it almost seem that you can have them all if you want, but you'd need a pretty big storage space to keep them all in!

Characters as Toys

What can you get? Well, there are loads of plush toys in the shape of all the favorite characters from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to all the other great folks. Don't forget that rascal cat Sylvester and his tormentor Tweetie Bird and the most unlikely favorite of most kids, Taz, the insatiable Tasmanian devil who loves to eat up everything in his path!

But there are loads more characters to add to the list. Here are some names that I'm pretty sure you'll identify with:

  • Yosemite Sam
  • Elmer Fudd
  • Porky Pig
  • Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote
  • Foghorn Leghorn
  • Pepe Le Pew
  • Speedy Gonzales
  • Martin the Martian

...and many more besides. They all have a place in people's hearts of all generations because they were all so endearing and entertaining in their own rights.

At the end of the day, it's the kids who gain from being given a toy (or toys) representing their favorite Looney Tunes characters. They'll get a great amount of enjoyment from them for many years to come, you van be sure of that.

Plus they can always be added to later with other characters and different kinds of toys. So you start with one and you have the scope for a multitude of great, easy to buy gifts for the future!
